WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT?

The Addams Family Values

The Addams Family Values follows on closely from The Addams Family.

It was made in 1993 and directed by Barry Sonnenfeld

The film starts off with Morticia announcing that she is going to have a baby....that second! About half an hour later they bring home Pubert the new addition to the Addams Family. Pubert is the spitting image of Gomez (mainly because he's got the same hair style and moustache!). The main story line is that once the baby has arrived Gomez employs Debbie Jelinsky as a nanny. Debbie then marries Fester for his money with a view to killing him after a few days of the marriage, however it all goes horribly wrong for Debbie as Fester is very difficult to kill! In the end the Addams Family get the better of Debbie and bury her alive!

Undoubtedly the funniest part of the whole movie is Wednesdays summer camp scene. The basic plot is that Debbie suggests that Wednesday and Pugsley should go to summer camp, after the initial shock, Gomez and Morticia allow them to go. Of course they don't really fit in at summer camp and Wednesday and Pugsley do their best to spook the other kids there. In the end they both go along with all the "fun" so that they can ruin the summer camp show, in which Wednesday ties Amanda Buckman (the camp "know-it-all") to a post and pours petrol around her threatening to light it, whilst this is happening Wednesdays "band of followers" burn the set down and destroy half the camp. Has to be seen to be believed.

REVIEWS

Virgin "What's on Video" Review
Love interest is the theme in this stylish sequel to the Addams Family which sees the welcome return of Huston, Julia and Lloyd to their lead roles. Done for fun and packed with genuinely funny gags and great special effects, this movie is one the whole family will enjoy.
