WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT?
Casper was made in 1995 and was directed by Brad Silberling
It tells the story of Carrigan an arrogant women, who's father had just died leaving her Whipstaff Manor. Carrigan (Cathy Moriarty) realises that there may be treasure in the manor so she goes with Dibs (Eric Idle) her assistant to investigate. When they get there Casper (who's a ghost) hesitantly introduces himself to them, this scares the life out of both Carrigan and Dibs who then both refuse to enter the building. This is particularly because Caspers "evil" uncles have turned up: Stretch, Stinkie and Fatso. Carrigan seeks professional advise from the Ghost Busters! but even Dan Aykroyd can't help, so they decide to knock the Manor down but this doesn't work either as Stretch, Stinkie and Fatso scare off the work men.
Through a bit of trickery Casper points a TV towards Carrigan which is showing an article about a Dr. Harvey (Bill Pullman) a "ghost psychiatrist" and Kat his daughter (Christina Ricci). So Carrigan invites them to Whipstaff Manor to try and get rid of the ghosts. Once they have arrived Casper introduces himself to Kat and after the initial shock they get on really well. Meanwhile Dr. Harvey has to put up with Caspers three uncles who make his life hell.
Kat discovers that Caspers dream is to be alive again and through a machine Caspers Dad built when he was alive they thought that they would be able to bring Casper back to life. Unfortunately Dr. Harvey kills himself by falling off a cliff and Casper sacrifices the special potion need for the life machine so that Kat can have her Dad back. Finally Caspers dream is granted for a few hours as Kats Mum who is now an angel brings him back to life.
Well that's the basic story line of Casper, so much goes on in the film I'd have to write, a few more pages to explain it all. It is available on video and I'm sure if your a committed Christina Ricci Fan you already own it........I do.

Whats The Blurb Say on The Back of The Video Box?
Amblin Entertainment and executive producers Steven Spielberg, Gerald R. Molen and Jeffrey A. Montgomery present a live-action fun house ride filled with laughter, excitement and ghostly surprises.
"Ghost therapist" Dr. James Harvey (Bill Pullman) and his daughter Kat (Christina Ricci) arrive at a drafty, old Whipstaff Manor. Its greedy owner, Carrigan (Cathy Moriarty), has hired Dr. Harvey to exorcise the house's apparitions: a friendly but lonely young ghost named Casper, who's just looking for a friend, and his outrageous uncles Stretch, Stinkie and Fatso (The Ghostly Trio). If the plan works she and Dibs (Eric Idle), her partner-in-slime, can get their hands on the manor's fabled treasure. Meanwhile, Casper has found a kindred spirit in Kat, but the Ghostly Trio will not tolerate "fleshies" in their house.
With hilarious antics and dazzling special effects from many of the creators of Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Jurassic Park, Casper is a mile-a-minute adventure comedy for the whole family.
